News
Short by design. Nothing goes on this page that is not dated and evidenced, and a feed padded out to look busier is the first thing a funder tests.
Spoken at, and named by the organisers afterwards
11 April 2026. Muslims in TV & Film, an event held by the Islamic Society of Britain. Rizwan Wadan and Nina Karwalska both spoke. The Islamic Society of Britain's own write-up of the day recommends Screen Sisters and Futures in Film CIC by name, to people in the room looking for a route into the industry.
It is on this page because it meets the only test this page has: it is dated, it happened, and the recommendation was published by somebody other than us.
Recognition
2025. A finalist placing in the Production Guild of Great Britain's Duke of Edinburgh Film & TV Inclusion Award. Recognition for the inclusion and access work done alongside our collaborating partner. Which of the two companies records the placing in its own name is being settled between the boards, and the answer will be printed here rather than assumed.
Coverage
Screen Daily's report on how the UK film and television industry supports its Muslim workforce during Ramadan names Screen Sisters as an interfaith organisation co-founded by Nina Karwalska. No date and no link go up here until we have confirmed both.
A photograph tied to a dated item rather than a stock frame: the award notification, or the unit the recognition was given for.
The award correspondence, and the archive from the work it recognised.
What has actually been delivered is on another page
The dated record — the camera days inside rental houses and an aerial film company, the three days on a stage at 3 Mills in March 2026, the film made with a congregation during Ramadan — sits on Our work, with what is done, what is running and what is opening marked against each line.
Dates for open evenings, screenings and cohort openings go on events as each one is confirmed.
What will appear here
Written down now so it is obvious later if it never arrives.
- Each cohort opening, and the first cohort completing.
- The Faith Charter and the toolkit, when they are published rather than while they are being written.
- Screening dates, and what the room did afterwards.
- Any further coverage, award or selection, with the date and the source in the same sentence.
No face, name, voice or quotation goes up without the written consent of the woman involved, so some of what happens will not appear here at all. That is a deliberate cost and we would rather carry it than the alternative.
