A room inside a working studio at 3 Mills. What you spend on it pays for training places, because no surplus can leave this company into anyone's pocket.
What Screen Sisters holds in its own name
Our room at 3 Mills, on a fifty-two-week agreement with the London Legacy Development Corporation. One room, not a suite, with the stages down the corridor.
It suits a producer, a small unit, a community organisation or a film-maker with a cut to show. Tell us the dates and what you are doing in the room, and we will tell you whether it works. Ask about a booking.
- A production office. Somewhere to base a small unit inside the studio rather than outside it. Live.
- A meeting, a read-through or a casting session. A room with a door that shuts, in the building rather than near it. Live.
- Rehearsal and blocking. Walk a scene before you pay for a stage. Live.
- A workshop or a training day. Prayer, quiet and changing space is arranged for the day, not standing ready. Live.
- A screening. The screening room we use at 3 Mills, for a rough cut, a rushes viewing or an audience. Opening, while the scope of our agreement is confirmed in writing.
Anything we do not own, we arrange with the people who do
These are other people's rooms and other people's kit. We say so, because calling them ours would mislead you and breach the arrangements that make them available at all.
We can introduce you to any of these. Where an introduction becomes a booking, the agreement is between you and the owner, and we name the owner before you commit.
- Post-production space, arranged with the owner. Opening.
- Camera, grip, lighting and sound, brought in by agreement for the job, never off a shelf of ours. Opening.
- Stages. 3 Mills stages are dry hire: power, house lights, heat and nothing else. Stages we hire elsewhere are booked with the studio direct. Opening.
- Specialist crew, practitioners we work with, introduced to you and contracted by you. Opening.
A short walk from the room, down the corridor, onto an empty stage, so a hirer can see where they would actually be.

Why hire here rather than from a commercial facility
Screen Sisters CIC has an asset lock: surplus cannot be extracted, because there are no shareholders to extract it. A hire fee funds fully funded training places for women who could not otherwise pay to be here. You get a room either way. Here the money does a second job. Where the money goes.
