Writers, journalists, filmmakers, directors, producers, researchers, community organisations and anyone else who cares about social impact.
What you bring is subject matter, a concept or a film idea. A finished script is welcome and is not expected. Apply as an individual or as a small team, and say which. No agent, no credit, no degree and no previous film required.
Screen Sisters gives priority to stories from faith communities and from underrepresented and culturally diverse backgrounds. The project needs a social, cultural or public-interest reason to exist.
Not sure whether it is ready? Send it anyway. Telling you what a project needs next is part of what the Lab does.
What you send
A line about the project and a little about yourself. That is the whole ask.
If you already have an outline, a treatment, cuttings, photographs or a draft, send them. If you have a subject and nothing else written down, send that. Both get read by a person.
Register your interest
Lawful basis: consent for keeping you informed, legitimate interests for assessing what you send. Ask us to delete it and we do. Privacy and your data.

What the idea is and what it needs, online or at 3 Mills.
03 · The round
Everyone registered gets the theme, the criteria, the panel and the closing date before they are published.
04 · Selection
Projects pitch to a panel, and every project that pitches gets written feedback.
How your information is handled
Safeguarding and access information is kept apart from creative submissions and never goes to a panel.
Terms are agreed with each selected project in writing before work starts.
Where the Lab runs
The Story-to-Screen Lab is a joint programme with Futures in Film CIC, and it is co-run across 3 Mills Studios and Pinewood Studios.
Sessions run online as well, and in other spaces we can reach, so that taking part does not depend on living near one building. Writers, filmmakers and community organisations work together across all of them.
