Finding the right people

Tell us what the job needs. We introduce you to people who can do it, and step out of the way.

2.39:1 · 25fps · HETV

The call nobody knows how to make

A production realises on Thursday that Friday is a location in a place of worship, or that a contributor will not be filmed by a man, or that the unit base has nowhere to pray.

Usually that gets improvised, late, by whoever is nearest. It does not have to be. Tell us what the day involves and we will put you in touch with people who have done it before and will not make it awkward.

We are not a crewing agency, and we are not pretending to be

There is no searchable database on this page and there will not be one. We do not list people by their religion, we do not hold a roster you can browse, and we do not take a cut.

We make an introduction. After that the engagement is between you and the person, on your own terms and your own paperwork.

What we can usually help with

Crew who have worked in faith settings

People who have been on a unit inside a place of worship and know how it is done without it becoming an incident.

Women in technical roles

Camera, grip, lighting, sound, production and post — at the grade they actually hold, not the one above.

Contributor care

Someone who can sit with a community before a camera comes anywhere near it.

A second pair of eyes on a schedule

Before you lock it, not after somebody has told you the shooting day is Eid.

Advice, free

If the answer is one sentence you do not need to hire anybody for it. Ask.

An honest no

If we do not have the right person we will say so and point you somewhere that might.

A woman in a patterned headscarf sits at a vision mixing desk in a gallery, one hand on the panel and a lens control handset in the other, the multiviewer and preview monitors lit in front of her.
At the mixing desk.

If you are looking for work rather than hiring

Join Screen Sisters and tell us what you do. That is a membership record, not a public listing — nobody can browse it and nothing about you appears on this website.

When a production asks for someone and you fit, we ask you first.

Tell us what the job needs

Dates, or roughly when. Say if it is urgent.

Location, and whether it is a place of worship or a community building.

Roles, grades, and anything about the day that makes it different.

Or commission the whole thing

If the job is bigger than a few introductions, we deliver productions ourselves.
