Most of what an audience believes about Muslims in this country arrives through a screen, made by people who have not sat in the front rooms. Muslims of London turns that around: the questions get put directly, and the answers come from the people they are about.
It is made by women. That matters, because the community most often described and least often consulted is the women in it.

Why it belongs here
This is what the rest of the site argues for. Not a film explaining a community to an audience, but that community holding the camera, asking the questions, and sitting in the edit.
It is also original work — not a commission delivered and handed over, but a series with its own voice.
