Delivered, and opening again
Advanced technical training
Camera, grip, stabilisation, lighting, sound, DIT (digital imaging technician), remote head, multi-camera studio and post, taught at the grade by people working in high-end drama now.
The industry does not hire in general. It hires a clapper loader for a Tuesday.
So you train toward a named grade, not toward filmmaking.
All heads of department report to the line producer, who holds the spend. Inside camera, the focus puller reports to the camera operator, not to the DoP (director of photography). Knowing that on day one is most of what separates someone who has been on a unit from someone who has read about one. We teach UK names: DoP not DP, clapper loader not second assistant cameraman.

The departments, and the grade each strand trains toward
Pick one. You rotate through the others on the Studio Simulation, then work your own.
| Department | What you work on | The grade you train toward |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Prep bench, seating a prime, matte box and follow focus, marks and tape, the loader routine. | Camera trainee, then clapper loader (2nd AC) |
| Grip | Track, wedges, levelling, the dolly, low-mode arms. | Grip trainee, on Bectu's Grips Branch ladder |
| Stabilisation and exoskeleton | Heavy-payload stabilised systems with operator support: balance, load, flying a move. | Camera trainee alongside the operator |
| Remote head | Setting a camera on a remote head and driving it against a rehearsed move. | Camera trainee toward remote systems |
| Lighting and electrical | Distro, cable runs, load and safety, colour temperature, flags and diffusion. | Lighting trainee; trainees do not plug up |
| Sound | The bag and the cart, boom placement, radio mics. | Sound trainee, then boom operator |
| DIT and data | Card handling, offload discipline, checksums, backups, the LUT on the monitors. | Data wrangler, assisting the DIT |
| Multi-camera studio | The floor, pedestal cameras, cue and talkback, the gallery, the vision mixing desk. | Floor assistant, then studio camera operator |
| Post | Ingest, sync, bins, conform, version tracking and delivery. | Assistant editor |

Our technical days happen inside the industry's own buildings
Not a classroom with a camera in it. Done, and dated.
A camera seminar inside a rental house in January 2025. A rigging workshop inside an aerial company later that month. A further camera block at the same rental house in May 2025. Stabilisation and exoskeleton as a named working department on our own unit at 3 Mills in March 2026. A working production package arrives with the unit.

A technical close-up: a rig being built, the exoskeleton taken on and off, a lens change called and made.
On-set operating images; technical day footage.
Before you apply
Virtual production. You get an awareness session on virtual production and VFX, because you will meet both on a modern stage. We do not deliver virtual production training.
Certificates. We map what we teach to the published ScreenSkills Skills Checklists, which are free and external.
